Historical Return for Watch List Securities James 02-05-2007

I am interested in adding new securities (stocks or mutual funds) to the
Watch List (Quicken 2007) and having it show the historical return for those
securities in % terms for periods of time (YTD, 1 yr, 3 yr, etc). However,
when I add new securities (no shares owned) and download the historical
information, I find the % return columns all show N/A as if there is no
data.

Is there a way to do the above?

Thanks for any help.

Most Quicken returns are computed for shares you own; you own no
shares, hence no returns.

I suspected that might be the case but something called a Watch List should
work for zero shares owned. You might be watching the security for a
possible future purchase.
