Ho to get wife back on Quicken? Grover 09-01-2008

Several months ago, my wife's computer (XP) had a major
meltdown. Budget dictated buying a new Compaq with Vista @#$%@#$%!

Finally got her networked with the other 2 XP machines here at home,
and am now trying to get her access to our Quicken (H&B 2007) which is
on my machine (XP SP3), which is shared on our home network - 3
machines.

What's the best, most cost effective way to get her access to the
Quicken on my machine like she used to do with XP? Do I have to buy
another copy? Do I have to upgrade "mine" to Q 2008?

I generally do the bank updates, and she used to do the categorizing
etc. Vault access seems to have "gone away" with all the random
questions and challenges due to increased security, now it's my job to
got to the bank site(s), download updates, but she can't get to the
data to do her part - frustrating for both of us!

Thanks! Please help me get back to not sleeping on the couch!

You can install 1 copy of Quicken (I think that should apply also to H&B)
on 2 or 3 computers, as per the license, but you'll have to check. You
will need to install on her machine so she can use the communal database.
Just be very careful not to try to access the same files at the same
time, or you'll need the backup. Now, whether QHB2007 works on Vista, I
don't know, but I had the demo Q2007 working on Vista home basic before
upgrading to Q2008. If you go and buy new software, you can go 2 ways,
Ebay for Q2008, or straight to Q2009, so as to get another year out of
the software.
My opinion counts for me, but you have to decide what it's worth to you.

Totally off-topic, but I admit to a double-take when I saw the "HO to get
wife back..." Subject line. ;-)
