I purchased the Home Inventory Manager (QHIM) program ($30). Compared to
the old QHI, it has additional features such as ability to attach pictures
or documents (receipts). It still isn't very customizable, though, in terms
of reports or lists.
It is quite a chore to input data, but I suppose that would be true of any
inventory program. As someone else noted, I need a round tuit - cause I
never seem to get a round tuit.
The thing I like about QHIM (and QHI does this too), is that it is
integrated with Quicken. When you enter a transaction in your quicken
register for which you want the item in inventory, just click on the
"Inventory" button on the toolbar, and it opens QHIM (or QHI) and fills in
some of the fields. Also, QHIM and QHI provide a number for net worth
reports. If those things aren't important to you, I'm sure you can find a
better peice of software or Excel/Access template.
