I am seeking to keep my desktop Q08 sync'd to my wife's laptop, so that
either of us can add data. I use SyncBack (2BrightSparks) for other apps,
but only in the backup mode. Wondering how you can sync Q08 data that might
have multiple entries at different times.
For example:
Desktop entries
+ 10/27/07
+ 10/29/07
Laptop entry
+ 10/28/07
If sync'd on 10/30/07, won't the laptop entry be lost, since the desktop has
the most current datestamp?
What I've been doing is entering data on one machine, and periodically doing
a backup to the other. I would like to enter data on both PCs.
Wondering how you handle sync'ing (not backup) Q data files.
Cheers,
Jim

Yes, indeed. That is exactly what would happen.

Sounds like a good idea for a 3rd party app.....
Google'ing provided a few suggestions. This one had a number of accolades on
its site

Please log in for more thread options Thanks....that's the idea (sync'ing as opposed to backup)....but a couple of
details:
SPB Finance only Synchronization with Intuit Quicken (2003 - 2006)...I have
Q2008.
Also, not clear if this is a laptop to desktop product. Their web info
seems to only say a PDA to desktop/laptop.
But this is the idea.
As for Web Entry method, this is what I pulled up on hte Intuit link
furnished by Andrew:
" This service is temporarily unavailable. We are working to restore service
as soon as possible and apologize for any inconvenience."
I would prefer a standalone approach, and not depend upon the Internet.
Any other ideas out there?
Cheers & Thanks,
Jim

The keyword here is temporary. Prior to getting Pocket Quicken I used
web entry a lot. Worked fine.

If you're just looking to add entries use Quicken's Web Entry
<http://www.quicken.com/webentry/>, which already works with Quicken and
has for years.
