Quicken doesn't handle put and call options well at all.
I've been trading those for years and have a work around that works, most of
the time.
First, understand that you won't be able to download prices for options
because they are not in the database of securities that Quicken uses.
When I sell a covered call against a position I own, I sell short 100 shares
at the price. When I either cover it, have it called away or it expires
worthless, I cover it at whatever price it went for. Don't forget to cover
the position when it expires worthless so you will have a zero balance.
