I want to copy my Q98 quickenw file from my desktop computer to my
notebook. I installed Q98 onto my notebook using the original cd disk.
The problem is upgrading the releases to r4. I don't think they are
available. If I can copy and paste the desktop file to a cd and then
transfer it to the notebook, all the releases should be there and then
I can restore the data.

Without the releases I get a error message that saids destination disk
is full when I try to restore the data from floppy disk. I even added a
swap file to bring the total hard drive to just over 1GB of space. I
seem to recall that the program would not work in anything larger than
2GB.

I checked past questions on coping Quicken files, but I don't know much
on computers to get it to work. I keep getting an error message saying
you can't copy quickenw. Yet past post claim it can be done as long as
you uncheck read only when installing them. I can't seem to figure out
how to copy the files.

I don't what to upgrade, because I love the simple features of Q98. I'm
using Windows 98se on both machines.

Can anybody help me with this one?

John

They are.

You can't "copy" software, only data. You had it right in the
first paragraph.

John,

Is it possible to just copy & past the r3 &r4 releases to the notebook?

If so, any idea on where to find them?

John

I don't have, and never did have, Q98; so I know nothing more
about it than what was in the Intuit article.

The way I understood the article, you can only update releases
for Q98 from within Quicken; but that should get you all the
releases there are. Once you install Quicken on a computer, you
should be able to use Quicken to update Quicken to the latest
release. I think all the instructions are there in the article.
