Can I get rid of it? I've never used it. Such a column does not
appear on non-split transactions.

It is a check box for "reimbursable expenses": It has nothing to
do with split transactions, and it is available in all
transactions (including non-split transactions) in checking,
savings, credit card, and bills accounts ... in the Home &
Business versions of Quicken. (Look to the right of the Memo
field in a two line register display.)

Thank you (you really know a great deal about Q).

Is there any way for me to option it out? I've been retired for 15
years and nobody reimburses me for anything.

You don't have to use it, but I don't know of any way to prevent
the field from displaying.

I should have added: if you're retired, perhaps you don't need
the H&B version of Quicken anymore. The "Exp" field only
appears in the H&B version of Quicken.
