Installing retail over evaluation version? Bob Newman 12-27-2007

I downloaded the evaluation version of Quicken 2008 Deluxe from Quickens web
site. I like it and will buy the retail version. My question is this: When
I open the program a screen comes up asking me if I want to purchase Quicken
online or "later", I chose later. I think if you purchase it from Quicken
they give you an unlock code for the program I have now. I have no
intention of buying from Quicken as their price is much higher than other
retailers ($60 vs. $42). Can I just install the copy I buy over the
evaluation version or do I have to uninstall what I have now and then
install the retail version?

Thanks... Bob

You *should* be able to install on top. I would, however, backup the
databases first.

First of all, you should try to backup your data set - place the files
in another folder on your PC and/or remote location (flash drive, CD,
online, etc).
I haven't use evaluation copy from Intuit before, but chances (and
hopes) are that the new full version would "upgrade" your evaluation
copy, preserving your accounts in Quicken program.
And if not - you'll be able, I think, to restore your previously
backed up dataset after installation of Q2008.
