Please log in for more thread options I'm now really grasping at straws, especially since we have the same Quicken
version (unless you have a Mac version) and mine works perfectly.
You could back up your data then uninstall and reinstall Quicken. Sometimes
Quicken components become corrupted and reinstalling it fixes quirky
problems. Have you run Quicken Online Update to get the latest fixes? I'm on
Quicken 2006 Premier Home & Business Release QA 5 (see Help -> About
Quicken). I don't think the H&B part matters but you do want "QA 5" and not
"R 5".
You might also try validating your database (File -> File Operations ->
Validate). Are you sure the securities have *exactly* zero shares -
sometimes stock splits can leave a tiny fraction of a share in your
holdings. But that couldn't possibly explain hidden *groups* showing up - I
have no trouble hiding any of my groups, even the active ones.
If none of the above works, or perhaps even before you try the above, why
don't you repost, starting a new thread with a title something like "Hidden
groups and securities show in Investing Center (Q06)". Then repeat what
you've already tried here or refer them to this thread.
It's best to start a new thread because experts in this group tend to ignore
a thread with responses. Others in the group know a lot more that I do and
perhaps I didn't give them quite enough time to reply before I stepped in.
But the fact that no one else responded sooner might indicate a
hard-to-diagnose problem.
Also identify your operating system and, if you know, how you installed and
are running Quicken (e.g. as a regular user or an administrator) and any
other details about your computer you think might be useful.
