I have a fairly complex return and need a basic tax planner that lets me
compare scenarios side by side, to see the effect of buying capital assets,
prepaying expenses, disposing of assets, etc. Intuit has a Lacerte tax
planner, but at $900+ it is ridiculously overpriced if you need to plan just
your own return.
The consumer tax product is TurboTax, but it's not clear that this has any
tax planner that would let you set up three side-by-side scenarios and
compare them. Does TurboTax have anything like that?
If not, are there any decent tax planners that could be purchased cheaper
than $300?
