I've been using 2007 for some time now without any problems.
I just switched to Vista and lost only my Quicken sounds...all other sounds
work fine.
I did check to see if the check mark was in the box and it is.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
TIA

Hi, John.

This is a common problem that dates back to Win2K. :>( We've discussed it
here many times.

An Export from my Registry is attached to this message. I'm running Quicken
2007 Basic in Vista Ultimate x64, but I think this .reg file will work for
any version of Q2007 and with any version of Vista. I've saved it as a .txt
file because you (or anyone else) will need to Edit it before you change the
suffix to .reg and Import (merge) it into your own Registry. You will need
to change my Quicken folder name (E:QuickenW - and note that the .reg file
requires the "\" to be doubled) to your own folder name before merging it.

Once this Registry import is done, you should be able to change any sounds
you don't like from Control Panel | Sound | Sounds. But, until then, you
probably won't see Quicken listed at all on that screen. And checking the
box within Quicken will have no effect.

If you are not comfortable with changing the Registry, please ask a geeky
friend to help you with it. Registry changes cannot easily be undone and
can leave your computer non-functional. At least, Export your existing
Registry key before Importing the revised version; then, if something goes
wrong, you can re-Import your original version.

Whoops! Something went wrong in my saving that .reg file as a .txt file!

Sorry! Here is the correct version (I hope).

Please report back with your results.

Just a FYI, I also had no Quicken sounds at all in Windows XP Pro and
the reg file fixed it.

Thanks!
