For the third time, my mc/visa bank has dropped quicken direct connect.
GRRR!! Any recommendations on quicken-friendly mc/visa issuers? [I
happened to notice that Q2009 told me "check out Quicken Visa" -- surely
Quicken's *own* card will support direct connect, yes? and I really don't
care much about the terms/rates/etc or who issues it] Thanks!

I have a "Quicken Visa" (though Citibank) and a Visa through Wachovia that
both work just fine via direct connect. Neither has an annual fee. No idea
what the APR is as I pay the balance in full every month.

My Citibank MC and Chase Visa still seem to work. Of course, Discover and
Amex-Costco also work. It's just my Chase checkin and savings that stopped
working. WHen I have time, I'll "visit" the local branch.

My Bank of America cards work too.

I have another card with Elan services that says that it only supports
web-connect. No problem. I downloaded the file and imported it without any
problem. Going forward, it configured itself to work with the One-step
update. This might be the WebConnect express but since it works with the OSU
I don't care what method it uses.

I've just gotten off the phone with BoA about this. If you have a checking
account with them, then you can get set up for direct-connect. If you
*don't* have a checking account, then you can only do web-express connect.
This would be OK *except* web-express-connect _only_ gets you a copy of
your last statement, which for me isn't good enough. [I do a couple of
quicken-checks a week to keep an eye out for any anomalous activity on my
card. -- and as with other Quicken functionality, it lets me be lazy..
instead of entering transactions by hand as I incur them [UGH! :o)] I do
downloads often enough that I can identify [and categorize, etc] the
transactions as I get them]
