I am trying to improve the performance of Quicken XG 2005. I have the
application installed on two computers, sharing the data file called
"Home Accounts" on one of the computers. The computers are linked via
a wireless network. About two months ago, Quicken slowed down
considerably on the computer that does not have the data file "Home
Accounts" on it. It now takes forever to enter any transactions, and
the area that takes the longest is the generation of the memorized
payees in the transaction for any account. I want to see if I can
improve performance by trimming down the "Memorized Payee List". It
may be that Quicken must access the entire payee list on the computer
that does not have the data file for each and every transaction.
Don't know.
If I eliminate a "memorized payee" does it also eliminate any executed
transactions that use the "memorized payee? The memorized payee list,
when opened, identifies transactions. I want to make sure that
deleting the memorized payee doesn't kill the transaction. Any help
appreciated.
