Recently I needed to move about 160 transactions from one investment
account to another.

If anyone knows an easy way to do this, please post it. Export/import
a QIF file doesn't work, because Intuit blocks it for investment and
banking accounts. Cut / paste multiple transactions doesn't work,
because selecting multiple transactions isn't allowed in investment
accounts.

Not knowing a better way, I used a tool called Macro Express -
http://www.macroexpress.com/ . This program can record keystrokes and
mouse movement, and play it back over and over.

I recorded a macro using Cut transaction(s) and Paste transaction(s)
and was able to move all the transactions over in about an hour.

It did take some fiddling with the macros and requires some technical
savvy - and patience. The basic trick is to make sure that at the end
of the macro, Quicken is back to the original account and ready to
repeat the operation.

As always, back up the data set first.

This will work for investment and bank accounts.

There is an even simpler way for non-investment accounts.

[And in some cases, an additional line may need to be added to the 4
mentioned in the above link.]
