I'm still using Quicken 2004 till the bitter end (April 30th). Then, I
plan to update to a newer version.

Do any of the newer Quicken programs accept OFX files _without_ the
licensed quicken headers? My son's College Fund (NY 529 plan) uses
OFX, but, Quicken 2004 says that it doesn't recognize the
institution's headers. The Plan site itself notes that they refuse to
pay Intuit's licensing fee for QFX.

Is there a way to get the OFX data into a newer version of Quicken,
and if so, which one(s).

Hi,

I've been looking at Home and Business and as far as I can tell OFX
is a download for Money.
And QFX is the file type that is being used in Quicken.
For the last three editions there is a popup after attempting to
download to a .qif file, which is what was used earlier by Quicken.
They stated that the technology is now over 10 years old and it was
originally intended for a tool.
Under Reports>Tax>data download there are two choices, Money and
Quicken, and the file types are OFX and QFX respectively.

Someone told me you could download as CSV convert. Read post further
down.

Hope this helps you.

I can download a CSV file, but, how do I import the investment
transactions into Quicken? I only know how to import CSV security
prices.

You are right: the only .csv files you can import into Quicken
are security price files.

So, going back to my original question, is there any way to get the NY
State 529 plan transactions imported/downloaded into any newer (than
2004) version of Quicken? Other than typing them by hand...

The download options are CSV and OFX ("Money" OFX).
