Need to Downgrade Quicken!! Cloy 04-19-2006

After much improvisation, searching various Quicken groups, posting
here, poring through pages and pages, and lnks and links...I chanced on
the same sequence as Cloy discovered. In my case, upgrading to Q2006
Basic from QW6 Deluxe, I was alsobaffled by misdatings of thye years
(1905 instead of 2005, 1906 for 2006). When it cqame to the Checking
avvount, witrh entries too numerous for correcting dates transaction by
transaction, I highlighted the 1905 and 1906 transactions, hit Delete
on the Q menu, then downloaded the untouched and desired 2006
transactions to a specially temporary account, which I ID's as TEST.
I'm sure there are more efficient, more elegant ways to achieve
saving the transactions...but in light of the stupendous amounts of
time I spent trying to find the method, I'm augmenting Cloy's solution
and hoping it'll help another weary drowning Q victim.

OOPS, my apologies for the typos (which seem almost cutesy but are
annoying) and I apologize, too, because the downloading sequence I
attributed to Cloy actually came from DietRite. So, a belated
acknowledgment to DietRite...( Not to take too much from Cloy, a
thank-you for asking the question in the right way to elicit DietRite's
response.)
The readiness of people who jump in to offer help warrants the
gratitude of all of us who find ourselves floundering in the roiling
oceans in which we are abandoned by Intuit. The same Intuit that
pronounces its "concerns" by asking us to help them "improve" its own
shortcomings... Why? So Intuit can perpetrate ever greater detachment
from the users?

I'm using Q2006 Deluxe with Cash Flow Center as my startup page.
I don't see any sections for rating vendors, online banking, or
investments. (There is a very small area for online updates.)
Most of the page is devoted to account summaries, scheduled
transactions, and a cash flow summary.

If you are talking about the icons on the toolbar, they are
customizable, at least in my version.
