yeah - the direct download support -
Had Quicken 2000 -> forced to Quicken 2004
Now, with Quicken 2004 direct download sunset in a couple of months,
have to go to Quicken 2007 .... just for direct download support

BTW - since I'm running Quicken 2004,
and just need to update to get back the direct download function,
should I go to Quicken 2006 or the latest Quicken 2007 which might still have
probs ?

Go with '06 as there are still numerous bugs/features in '07 that have not
been fixed with r2 or r3.

I totally agree with PSJ.
Still too many bugs and *features* that don't work right.
I am sooooo sorry I upgraded. What a mess!
Don't do it!

Retirement of online services for older versions of Quicken

Answer
In an ongoing effort to provide reliable high-quality products and services,
Intuit periodically retires older versions (also known as “discontinuation” and
formerly as “sunsetting”) of Quicken, thereby discontinuing online services and
live technical support for these versions.

Under this policy, the most current version of Quicken (currently Quicken 2007),
plus the prior two versions, will be supported, subject to certain exceptions.
Discontinuing older versions of Quicken enables Intuit to focus resources on
enhancing its products and providing support for more current versions, which
are used by most Quicken customers.

When a Quicken product is scheduled to be discontinued, Intuit provides affected
customers with advance notice, generally by means of this Web site. This Web
site is updated periodically, so please visit again for more information as it
becomes available.

Information for Quicken 2004 customers

As of April 30, 2007, in accordance with the Quicken discontinuation policy,
online services and live technical support will no longer be available for
Quicken 2004 users. These services include online bill pay; downloading
financial data from your bank, credit union, credit card, brokerage, 401(k), or
mutual fund accounts; downloading stock quotes, news headlines, and other
financial information into Quicken; uploading portfolio information from Quicken
to Quicken.com; and providing access to the investing features on Quicken.com,
including portfolio tracking, any watch lists you have created, One-Click
Scorecard™, Stock Evaluator, and Mutual Fund Evaluator.
