I have been using Quicken Premier 2008 on Vista since it came out and never
had any problems.

Starting yesterday, whenever I try one step update, the little circle shows
it's trying but it never completes. Whenever I click on the icon, quicken
crashes.

I can do the online update with each account individually from the register
window, but I cannot do one step update.

I haven't made any changes to my computer.

Could something in the windows automatic update be causing this? Vista
seems to be paranoid on the security measures.

That's exactly what happened to me. About two days ago (5/27/08) I ran one
step update. It ran and ran and ran, and never finished. I had to stop it
manually. This had never happened before. The computer didn't crash, but I
could leave and come back in a half hour and the update would still be
running. Than, sometime yesterday, about a day or two after this started, it
ceased. Now, one step update seems to run just fine. I am running Quicken
Home & Business 2008 with Windows Vista Ultimate. I didn't change anything
during the roughly 48-72 hours when this issue occurred, but it stopped
happening on its own.

Interesting. I had the same experience with 2008 Premium and Vista two
days ago. I noticed that the One-step icon kept spinning. Clicking the
icon didn't do anything. It ran for at least an hour before I closed
Quicken. Restarting Quicken seemed normal. The problem hasn't occurred
again.

Same thing happened to me too over the weekend. Monday OSU worked just
fine.... Let's hope the problem doesn't recur.
