Are the cash balances appearing in the window on the left of the register
screens supposed to reflect the transactions I just sent to the bank? I go a
message telling me not to expect downloads from the bank today (but it's
Thursday, not Wednesday). Though the transactions in the bank register
showed they were sent, the cash balances in the summary window didn't
reflect it although the individual registers (like Discover and MasterCard)
did show the balance reduced by my payment.

I'm still getting familiar with this service so perhaps it was that way last
month as well and I didn't notice. I know that when the transactions were
matched a few days later, I noticed nothing out of balance as I do now. The
difference is exactly equal to the transactions sent.

I'm not sure I understand your problem, and you didn't mention
what Quicken version you are using.

I'll guess you are using a version later than Q2002 which has
what Quicken calls the "Account Bar" on the left (or right) of
the Quicken window. The account bar lists your accounts, and
their balances if you so choose.

The account bar has the option (right-click in the bar) to show
"current" balances or "ending" balances. Current balances are
as of today; ending balances include all transactions in the
account, even future dated transactions.

Hi John. To my aid ... again. I appreciate your help. After I posted this, I
left the house and the more I thought of it, the redder my face became. Of
course there should be a difference if it's a "Cash Balance". The bank
hasn't processed my bills and returned the data for me to "match" in my
registry. And I didn't know I had the option of "current" or "balance".
Thanks for your help. (It's Q2005 HB that I own.)
