Using XP Home.

Quicken is installed at C:Program FilesQuicken. I currently back up
to L:Quicken Backup L: is an extrenal hard drive. Previously, for a
short time, I backed up to O:Quicken O: is a thumb drive.

When I load Quicken or save a file, Quicken accesses the O: drive
which is very slow. Yes, the file is backed up to the L: drive

None of the data files are located on C:

How can I eliminate accessing the O: drive without causing problems?

Your help will be appreciated.

Ron

Copy the data from the O: drive to your desired location. I usually copy
the entire Quicken folder including the Backup folder. Then open Quicken.
It will remember the last file opened which currently is the O drive. Now
use the File>>Open option to open the Q file that is on the new location.

For your next backup, change the location by using the File>>backup option.
Change the location by hitting the Browse button.

Sorry, I hit the send button too quickly :(

Your instructions were concisely written and again very much
appreciated.

Thanks for your help . . . now I can use Quicken without staring at
the monitor so much.
