I currently use Charles Schwab Bank NA to pay my bills online though
their BillPay web site. Is there a way to have Quicken initiate the
payment so I dont have to logon to Schwab. I dont want to use Quicken
BillPay and incurr their monthly costs....

thanks...

The only way Quicken can send billpay instructions to your fi is
if your fi permits it. You should be able to tell that by
looking in the Account Attributes on the Summary tab of the
account for a field that says "Online Payment through Charles
Schwab". If that field is present and says "Available", you
should be able to activate the service by clicking the "Change
Online Services" button.

John,

Thanks for your reply. This is what I see... In Account Details;
Transaction download is activated; makes sense because I'm am
downloading entries from the bank. On the OnLine payment tab it says
Quicken Bill Pay is available. However, if I activiate Quicken Bill
Pay; then will I be forced to pay the monthly charges from Quicken?
this is what I'm trying to avoid....

thanks again.

Both Quicken Billpay and the fi billpay may be "available" for
any account; but only one can be "Activated".

It is your financial institution that controls whether their
billpay is "available" in Quicken; if you don't see "Online
Payment through Charles Schwab" in your Account Attributes, you
can't use the fi billpay via Quicken. Call the fi for
confirmation.
