You probably have "Automatically memorize new transactions"
selected in your Quicken Program QuickFill preferences.
Duplicate payees do not indicate anything wrong; you may not
want them, but Quicken can memorize multiple transactions for a
given payee. If you do not want that, turn off the option ...
and delete the duplicates from your Memorized Payee List.
