I think the text being in black indicates that the account download was
done via Express Web Connect (as opposed to Direct Connect).

No. To the best of my knowledge, it indicates that Quicken believes that
the account can be successfully downloaded via Express Web Connect.

I'm sorry, but after reading your answers, I don't think I have any
insights into your problem.
I would call your financial institution ... but I wouldn't expect any
meaningful results. At least ask them to give you contact with a Quicken
knowlegeable person.
