Portfolio Value Report Contains Incorrect Quote/Price For Security pdkelly 07-23-2007

I've upgraded to Quicken Personal Plus 2007 to take advantage of the
Investing Centre. After adding all details of my portfolio, I have
been looking at all the available reports.

I noticed on the Portfolio Value report that the Quote/Price column
contains an incorrect value for securities with multiple purchases and
different values.

For Example:

For security ABC
400 shares were purchased on 12/02 @ $1.28 ($512)
1500 shares were purchased on 21/04 @ $1.19 ($1785)

So, on the Portfolio Value report, I would expect to see the
following entry with a Quote/Price value equal to the average cost of
purchasing all the shares.

Security Shares Quote/Price Balance
ABC 1900 1.209 2297

What I actually see is

ABC 1900 1.19 2261

Where the Quote/Price value is equal to the value of the last
purchase price.

Can anyone tell me whether my assumptions are correct, and if so, how
I can get the Portfolio Value report to include all purchase prices.

Regards,
Phil

OK, I think I've seen my own mistake.

The price in the Portfolio Value report is showing the value as of a
given date. These securities where purchased back in 2004, and the
quicken price history doesn't appear to go back that far. Therefore
the report has used the last know value.

Therefore, is there anyway to manually enter the value of a security
at a specified date. This would fix the report for me.

Regards,
Phil.

Well, I managed to answer my own question again.

Go to the Investment Centre and click on a security. There is an
Update menu option which allows manul updates of the price history.

I've spent 2 days trying to work this out, and as soon as I explained
the problem here it all fell into place!!

Funny old game.

Regards,
Phil.
