Problem moving datafile to new computer Barry 05-04-2006

I'm installing a new computer (P4-3.0, XP Pro) with Q2005. System
being replaced running Q2005 under Win98SE. I installed Q2005 from
the CD then did an online update to R5, no problem.

When I start Q2005, the Getting started w/Quicken 2005 box comes up
and I select Restore a Quicken data file. I insert my backed up file
(on an Iomega Zip drive), it spins for a while with a little window
saying "Restoring," then I get an error box saying "the disk is not
ready."

I tried several times with same result. My QDF file is large (about
11 MB.) Could that be it? Any ideas?

TIA.

No, probably this:

https://quicken.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/quicken.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=2238Alternatively,
just create a folder on your hard drive to holdyour current Quicken fileset.
Then use Windows to copy QDATA.*(where QDATA is the name of your Quicken data)
from the zipdrive to the new folder on your hard drive. Have Quicken
"open"QDATA.QDF in the new folder on your hard drive.--John PollardFirst initial

How about copying the backup file to your hard drive. It might help to put
it into the folder that quicken is looking for the backup files in. Also
make sure that the file is not set at read-only.
