Hi All,
This is probably not the right forum for the question, but it's
driving me nuts. I use SunTrust Bank and can download checking
account transactions from the bank to Quicken 2008 when I use FoxFire.
I have it's popup blocker turned off. However, when I use Windows IE
V 7.0 with its popup blocked turned off, something is still blocking
the download. It does have Google toolbar, and I have clicked on
popups ok. Any suggestions would be appreciated. It has to be
something in IE, since I can download with FoxFire. Many thanks in
advance. Best, Bob

I would just contitnue to use FireFox and skip trying to fix your problem
with IE7. FF is a better, more secure browser.

You might check your bank's website to see if they even support downloading
with IE7. There are a host of incompatilitiy problems with IE7. If you are
using XP I would also suggest uninstalling IE7 to revert back to IE6.

Hi Laura,
Just checked with bank, and there is a problem with IE7. Built in
firewall can not be turned off for the bank transaction. I'm just
going to use FireFox instead. Too much hassel to go back to IE6.
Thanks for the suggestion...glad I called the bank. Best, Bob

Bob I have used Quicken 2005 and 2008 with IE 7 (Win XP machine) and
had no trouble downloading my stuff directly into Quicken. About a
week ago I changed to a Vista machine which uses IE7 and I have had
not issue using Quicken 2008 (Quicken 2005 is not compatible with
Vista, which is the reason I switched to QW 2008)

I suggest you contact tech support at SunTrust again. Your will
probably get another person.

There is a firewall in IE7, but first it can be turned off, second it
does not interfere with SunTrust stock downloading into Quicken.
Incidently I also have usedInternet Banking with both my XP and Vista
machines and that works fine also.

Hi Gordon,
I have spoken with two different people at SunTrust. First was less
than helpful, said it was a popup blocker in IE, and he could not help
in finding it, the second said there was a problem with IE7. It's
really weird, I have turned off the popup blocker in IE7, and have
uninstalled the Goggle toolbar, so its popup blocker is gone. I am
still getting a block when I try and download checking account
transactions. I don't have any trouble with FireFox. It will
download directly to Quicken 2008 or to the desktop and I can import
the QFX file. The only other thing is Spybot S&D, and I have tried
exiting its resident piece and also tried uninstalling it. Same
result, something is still blocking the download. Unless someone can
give me any other ideas, I'm just going to use FireFox. I usually use
it unless the website says that it needs IE. I see that you can turn
off the firewall in IE, is that the same firewall for XP? I am using
another firewall instead of MS's. Thanks for the help. Best, Bob
