I had a similar problem with Q2005, though I did not determine
that there was any underlying error message (makes sense to me
that there would have been, I just never saw any sign of it).
Despite my certainty that it had to be data corruption, I
finally fixed the problem by reinstalling Quicken. If you
attempt that, you may want to use "qcleanui.exe" on the Quicken
CD to uninstall Quicken (have it check for remnants of Q2006
while you're at it.).
