Hmmm... I posted detailed responses to three of the replies here last
Thursday and none of them showed up. Oh well...

On a brighter note, I may have found help for my bad Quicken database
issue --

My desktop PC runs XP, Service Pack 3. No amount of copying,
validating, or super-validating within Quicken could clean up the
broken Scheduled Transactions. I installed Quicken on my laptop,
which runs Vista, Service Pack 1, and took my files over to that
machine and did a super-validation. Voila! The broken Scheduled
Transactions were removed and they stayed removed. I then brought the
files back to my XP machine and they have stayed intact for the days
since then.
