[QW06H&B] My help file used to work just fine, without problems over
the last two years or so that the program has been installed. During
the past month, however, it has stopped functioning. There is an
Internet Explorer-type page that indicates a connection cannot be
made. I have reviewed my firewall settings and there does not seem to
be anything blocking Quicken, and I temporarily removed the blocks
from IE. What could have caused this problem to develop? Is there a
remedy short of uninstalling and reinstalling (which might not even
fix the mysterious problem)?

There is a note on the Quicken support site of something similar, but
it is limited to the 2008 version.

Joseph:

You were smart enough to find this newsgroup, you should also be smart
enough to READ the threads from the past few weeks before blindly posting
the SAME question.............for about the sixth time. I suggest you look
at the information already posted.........now.

Ken, maybe you shouldn't be so arrogant and condescending. I did read
the other postings, as well as searched the Intuit site and Microsoft
sites. The fixes that are published do not apply to the product that
I identified, which is a Quicken 2006 edition. If you have helpful
information to provide in the cooperative spirit of this newsgroup, I
would appreciate reading it. If you have a bug up your ass, take it
elsewhere.

Sorry you took offense. Maybe you should describe your situation a little
more accurately.

The information in your message contained NO CLUE that you had tried to find
an answer. Quite to the contrary, in fact.

And one of those messages you claim to have read clearly stated that they
had a fix ONLY for '07 and '08...........and other posts indicate that it
didn't even work on those versions for everybody.

Intuit's FAQ for this problem can be found at: http://tinyurl.com/ypp7q9

Currently it contains fixes for Q2007 & Q2008, but it states they are
working to get it fixed for other supported products. It appears they will
update that FAQ when they have fixes for other releases, and they have a
button inside the FAQ to notify by you by email if they update the FAQ.
