Quicken doesn't care if you use the same password for every
account.
The definitive starting point is your Participating Financial
Institutions List; if your fi is not in the list, they offer no
online services. If they are in the list, clicking on their
name will tell you what online services they offer and what
method(s) of download they offer.
According to my Q2006 Participating Financial Institutions List,
Emmigrant Direct only offers Web Connect downloads; that is, you
can not use One Step Update to download from Emmigrant Direct in
Q2006.
[Q2007 has introduced a new feature called "Express Web Connect"
which will permit Web Connect downloads using One Step Update
... but the feature is currently not working very well. I
suspect it will be working better by the time the final release
of Q2007 is out.]

In order to do this, the capability must be offerred by the
financial institution; that is, you must be able to do it
outside of Quicken before Quicken will be able to do it.
If the fi offers the capability, I am still not sure you can
initiate it from within Quicken; I have no way to test it, but
something in the back of my mind says, probably not. But I
don't think there would normally be any harm in trying.
But, since your fi does not offer "Direct" downloads, the
question is moot; you must have One Step Update access to
transmit transactions "to" your financial institution.
