Question For The Early Adopters - Ads? Bill 08-06-2006

I was a little concerned about upgrading (from QP '02!) because of some
of the comments I had read about ads cluttering the workspace in more
recent versions of Quicken.

What has been the experience of the Q2007 early adopters with ads and
clutter that isn't their own?

Thanks!

Bill

I've been using QP2007 for several days now, and I don't recall seeing
any ads. So if they're there, they must be unobtrusive.

One thing I did notice over the last couple days is that the expense
graph in the Cash Flow Center's "Analysis and Reports" tab is different
from those same graphs in other centers/tabs. When I customize this
graph to match, Q doesn't save the changes between sessions. :-(
Another thing is that although I have turned off transaction download
renaming (or whatever this is called), Q is still creating renaming
rules. To be honest, I was thinking of turning them back on, but Q is
doing it all by itself, even though it's clearly configured *not* to.

And that bug that only some have experienced, where the date is off when
you do an "update balance," is still there. The date that comes up is
the date of the last transaction instead of today's date. I realize not
everyone has experienced this particular bug, but I have been able to
duplicate it on four different machines. :-(

Despite these annoyances, I do like QP2007 and am glad I upgraded.
Hopefully these issues will be addressed in a future release.

Regards,

Margaret

At least with '06, they seem to have gotten the message. The ads for Quicken
services are few and tend to be menu items or text links. Modding the ini file
gets rid of the portfolio ads.
