I have been using QD2001 since its release and enabled my NatWest current
account for Online Banking at the onset, so that I can download OFX files
and check them off against the register to make sure all reconciles OK.
This works very well and makes reconciling weekly so easy.

However, although I now have a second NatWest current account, I cannot
enable it for online access, no matter what I do!!

Is this because the fidir.txt file is perhaps out of date, as the link it
points to is no longer valid?

Is fidir.txt not updated during One Step Update now because Intuit no
longer support the product?

If anyone can help me I would be very grateful indeed. Quicken 2001 Deluxe
is a great program for my needs and I can't see why I need anything
further.

Thank you in anticipation
Mark

Quicken 2001 is no longer supported for online access.
You need at least Quicken 2006 to get online access.
Online access is only supported for 3 years and then
you have to upgrade.

Thanks for your prompt reply John. QD2001 is still processing my
downloaded OFX files for my original account just as it always has done.
What I can't do is enable any further accounts for online access. I
understand that the product is no longer supported by Intuit but why would
this prevent me enabling another account?

I'm certainly not an expert, but will it have anything to do with the
fidir.txt file in the Quicken directory being out of date ie the path
quoted there for NatWest is no longer valid as it is now not updated at
each One Step Update?
