Hi,

I am using Quicken 2003 Deluxe and all I use it for is my checking
account, writing all my checks, and balancing my checkbook. My data
file goes back to 1993 so I've used Quicken for quite a few years.

I'm curious to know if there is any reason that I should want to upgrade
to a newer version.

Just curious.

I would say no. Unless you have a need for new features, stick with what you
have.

When you start downloading transactions from your bank, or updating your stock
prices, then you'll want to upgrade.

I'm still using Quicken 2001. It does everything I need including
importing QIF files for the checking, savings and credit card accounts
from my credit union. Since I hold relatively few securities in my
brokerage account, updating from the monthly statement is no big deal.

I still use Quicken 2002 and my conclusions are similar to yours: if it works
WHY screw around with
wasting money on needless updates. It takes me little time to occasionally
manually enter prices that the
Update download misses.
