Quicken 2004 - One step update

I really don't want to use MS money if I can help it! Not sure if anyone can help with this. I've just reinstalled quicken due to hard disc problems. Things seem OK but I cannot get rid of the One step update page which appears every time I run Quicken. Despite the product no longer being supported I can still download Currencies etc. But this screen did not open by default before. There's no preference to turn it off. This is a long shot, but make sure there are NO boxes checked in "Schedule Updates" (which is in the Online menu). If that doesn't help, try validating a copy of your data. No. I've unticked everything its possible to untick. Some boxes come up re ticked when I re run the programe. I think this has something to do with the fact that this unsupported software can no longer access any programme updates, so it keeps trying to! I seem to remember when installed originally it updated the software online. What I will have on a back up programme is the old .ini file. I might try putting that back?
