But I would consider not doing step 9 as described, and
postponing steps 10/11. Instead, I would download the manual
updates for Q2007 from Intuit; and apply the R4 patch manually;
then run Quicken, etc..

Thanks much, John .. had seen that one but had *really* hoped to avoid a
reinstall. However, it did the trick, although I did have a bad moment when
Quicken refused to open completely (kept hanging when I tried to open my
file). Clicked on my Quicken file to open it which worked and it's fine now.
