I originally wanted to know if you could convert a QIF file so it can
be imported into Quicken 2007. I have two small files left over from
before I changed to QFX files. Can that be done?

ok - Does Q2007 support Importing of older QIF files ?

Let's not wander down the QIF vs QFX vs Categories path again....
one topic per thread - this is just about Importing QIF files into Quicken
2007

Now, about QIF's
In Q07 you can import QIF file into cash account, than copy the
transactions into other non-investment account (multi-line selection
is helpful).

Th>ere is also a workaround for QIF import to investment accounts - it
was posted some time ago.

Since I didn't have Q2007 - I didn't know what menu options he had avail...

...then it went from the subject of Importing QIF
to converting QIF into QFX,
and then went to the real subject
of Category assignment during Import/Update

You do not want to use the workaround to import QIF files into
investment accounts or checking accounts since they go directly into
the account and not into the download transaction section for review.
Better to put them into a dummy cash account, review them and then
copy them.
