I'm really getting frustrated with Q2007. This was so easy in Q2004 and prior
versions.
First, I can't seem to get my single mutual fund accounts to NOT show a cash
balance in Quicken. These are Vanguard accounts, with no associated cash
balance. Just tonight, I created a new single mutual fund account for one of my
funds, then manually re-entered 4 years worth of transactions. All is good -- no
cash balance. Then I go to Vanguard to download the latest, and the next thing I
know, the account now shows a "Cash Bal" column.
The cash balance issue wouldn't be such a problem, except that I can't figure
out how to create a scheduled transaction that transfers money from my checking
account and buys shares in a mutual fund at an estimated share price. Previous
versions did this with no problem. Now, any scheduled transaction I create, just
moves money to the cash balance as (XIn). Yes, I eventually download from
Vanguard, but the downloaded transactions don't jive with the XIn scheduled cash
transaction. And I want the scheduled transactions to exist to help project my
checking balance.
Am I doing something wrong or is Quicken just getting worse with every update?
