Installed Qucken 2007 under Vista Home Premium. Everything seems to run
fine EXCEPT I cannot register the product. When I click "register product"
I get a screen that Says "Welcome to Quicken registration", nothing else no
form, nothing. I don't really care much about the actual registration, but
it bugs me because a request to register always pops up when I do a One Step
Update.

I contacted Quicken support (silly boy) and they wanted me to enable
cookies, validate data, etc. I did not expect their advice to help, and I
was right, it didn't!

Also they said "Maybe bad installation". Nope, don't believe that either.
I have used Quicken for 12 years and have learned not to believe a lot of
what they say.

Good help comes from my fellow users. Anyone had same problem and any
suggested solutions?

Tom

I installed Quicken 2007 on 2 machines. One is XP and one is win2K. The XP
machine registered without any problems. The win2K machine kept prompting me
to register the product. I found the following post concerning bypassing the
registration screen and it worked on my win2K machine:

Disable the popup by:
Hold down CTRL+SHIFT at the same time, click on the Online menu, choose "One
Step Update" (while holding down CTRL+SHIFT). You should see a dialog
appears which states that "you will no longer be prompted for registration".

Laura, I did the CTL-SHIFT and clicked on step update. Got dialog box that
said "QID has been cleared from the QDB file". Have no idea what that
means. Registration problems remains. But thanks for the idea.

I don't recall that message. I wonder if that is Vista related. Sorry that
did not help.

You have to push the CTL-SHIFT on the left side of the keyboard and not
the right side.
