Intuit a few years ago tried software activation on their
TurboTax.......does Q2008 use software activation for
(1) registering software?
(2) enabling any online features?

I recently encountered software activation on my paid version of AdAware
(LavaSoft). Seems to be growing.

Thanks & Cheers!
Jim

Instead, they force banks to update their systems so that after 2-3
years, you can no longer use on-line services.
