Any pros/cons using this service? Can one cancel
anytime if not satisfied?

I have been using Quicken Bill Pay (and before that Checkfree)
for over 10 years with few problems. The only problems I have
had is when an account holder showed I did not make a payment when
in fact I had and Quicken showed it had been made. A call to bill
pay support alerted them to the problem and they called the account
holder and cleared the problem up. This only happened half dozen or
so times in all the years I have used this service.

If you have accounts at multiple banks a side benefit is that
you can transfer funds between these banks without a fee and
without writing a check on one bank to deposit in the second.

I recently relocated across the country and Chase bank did not
have presence in the new state. I opened a checking account
in the new state and used Quicken Bill Pay to transfer money from
Chase to the new bank. This made it a painless way to move my bill pay
payments to the new bank. All I needed to do was set up the new
bank to be associated with Quicken Bill Pay.

I believe Quicken Bill Pay has a 30 trial period and you can cancel
at any time after that.

There is a monthly fee for a set number of transactions
per month but if you mail in payments this saves the hassle and cost
of postage, envelopes and time.

I currently have online banking with my bank, and they
pay my bills for me once I send them through Quicken.
However, I'll be out of the country for 4 weeks, so I'm
looking for ways to pay bills during that time. I may just
opt to pay them before I leave.

Your bank does not have billpay through their website?

That would not take care of putting the data into Quicken, but you can do
that later, when you're back.
