Still using Q 2002 and have read about a few problems with using older
versions and then trying to convert to 2005/2006.

Does anyone know ( suppose I could call Quicken support about issue) how
long 2002 will last. I believe it's not supported but probably have to bite
the bullet one of these days when Q runs a special.

I'm cheap and it's really only used for Budgets and Copy of Check Book.

I've been using Q2002 Deluxe before upgrading to Q05 - absolutely no
problems!

What do you mean "will last"?
If you're worried about the upgrade to a newer version, I'd say you
have some few years before Q02 would become obsolete for a direct
upgrade to then current version.

You really don't have to upgrade, you can use Q02 for as long as your
PC is running it.

Intuit now offers what it calls "trial versions" of Quicken.
Those are older versions of Quicken that you can download for
free to use in converting very old versions of Qucken to new
versions of Quicken.

Check out eBay; even if you're cheap, the prices for newer
versions of Quicken should not put much of a dent in your
wallet.

Thanks John. When I say cheap, I mean cheap. Son pointed me to some Norton
products which after rebates etc cost me zilch.

Obviously you're not going to get anything on eBay for zilch;
but just for perspective, you can get Q2005 Deluxe for less than
$18 including shipping. You might do even better (and could
guarantee not to do worse) if you wanted to participate in the
bidding process.
