Does anyone know if Q deluxe 2004 works with Windows Vista?
What about the new version of Quicken (2007)?

TIA

Quicken H&B 2007 is reported to work in Vista RC1 5600 x86.

Thanks Scott. I don't have Quicken H&B and don't plan on getting it. I
have Q 2004 and was thinking of upgrading to 2007 if the 2004 version wasn't
support in Vista.

Hi, DotCom.

While I haven't tried EVERY version of Quicken with EVERY version of Vista,
I see no reason why EVERY combination would not work.

I've installed every build of the Vista beta since August of 2005, and have
install Quicken Basic (either 2006 or 2007) in every build without a
problem. Quicken 2007 was the easiest upgrade of them all. ;<)

My practice for the past several years has been to install Quicken into MY
choice of folder (E:QuickenW), rather than into the default C:Program
FilesQuicken. Since I always have multiple versions of Windows and Vista
installed and running, I want to be able to access Quicken and pay my bills,
no matter which operating system I'm running at the moment. So I install
Quicken into each new Windows/Vista, letting Setup make its required entries
in the new system's Registry, but always pointing to E:QuickenW for the
installation location. After the basic installation steps, I "bail out" of
Quicken Setup before getting to the parts about updating Quicken or running
it. Then I use Windows Explorer to navigate to the E:QuickenW folder and
click on my *.qdf file, which opens the new Quicken with my data file
already loaded. (I always have to make a few tweaks in Edit | Preferences;
perhaps I could import an .ini file or something, but I haven't explored
this.)

You can bet that if any version of Quicken doesn't run in Vista, you'll hear
plenty of loud howls here - and elsewhere!

GREAT info RC! And what a great idea! I also am running a dual-boot
XP/Vista as well as a laptop on my network and would like to try what you
describe below to access Quicken no matter what OS one is in. If I may
ask, what does "E:" represent on your computer? Is that an external hard
drive or just a another partition you created for this purpose? I have a
large external that might work well for this purpose if it will allow
installing to an external USB drive.
