Now that QDeluxe 2009 has been out for awhile, would anyone like to
share their experience vs. QDeluxe 2008, which I am runnng?

Mainly reasons to update? I keep all my finances in Q (checking,
savings, CDs, Marketedge Account, Investments (Stocks and Bonds),
Mortgage and HomeEquity Line of Credit, etc.

I use TurboTax but do not import directly from Q, rather, I print the
Tax Schedule Report and use that in conjunction with my accounts
statements to input my data to TurboTax.

Any thoughts appreciated.

Hi, Charlie.

I've been using Q2009 Deluxe for about a month now, moving up from Q2008
Deluxe. I update every year or two. As usual, Q2009's interface has a new
look that takes some getting used to, but that's to be expected. Quicken
still performs just about the way we've come to expect: mostly good, but
with some irritating wrinkles. Overall, I like it a little better, but
that's a matter of personal opinion and taste - and you won't know until you
try it yourself.

One improvement that I appreciate but that might not matter to you is that
the problem with scrolling in Quicken Reports seems to be fixed. With my
Microsoft laser 6000 mouse, in the last few versions of Quicken, reports and
some registers would scroll UP but not down, no matter which way I spun the
mouse wheel. In Q2009, it works properly.

We won't know about TurboTax for another month or two. I tried direct
import/export in several prior years with mixed - mostly unhappy - results.
I'll probably try it again when TurboTax arrives.

I usually wait until TT is released. Places like Staples, Office Depot,
etc., will have deals involving buying it and rebates on other packages.
Staples usually has the best offers. They used to sell Deluxe on sale
that made it free after the rebate. Not the past couple of years, though...

This also gives Intuit the opportunity to issue 0ne or more updates and
we get the experiences of firs updaters....

Thanks you both for your replies. I think I will wait for TT and then
see about Q2009 at that time.
