Quicken Help is broken? TomYoung 12-18-2007

Hi all:

I don't use the built-in Quicken Help feature very often but today I
did, and it seems to be broken. Clicking on "Quicken Help" in the
drop-down menus brings up the "Quicken Personal Financial Software
Help" window properly. I can select any of the the tabs available -
Contents, Index or Search - and that works OK. However, actually
selecting a topic to view brings up an Internet Explorer Script Error
window - access denied - and selecting either the Yes or No button in
the error window results in the right hand pane of the Help program
telling me "This program cannot display the webpage."

Anybody else experiencing this problem?

TIA

Tom Young

I noticed this same problem on Sunday, and it's still an issue today.

It's a known problem. The latest Microsoft security patches for IE "broke" the
Answerworks help function in Quicken. You can wait for Intuit to release a fix
or you can get it yourself from

Make that: "It's a known problem similar to the one previously fixed by the
Answerworks patch, but apparently requires a new patch that is not currently
available..."

I received a notice from Intuit about a patch on their website to fix this
problem:
http://www.intuit.com/support/security/

This page makes reference to the Dec 11 Microsoft updates but when I
downloaded the updates none of them references Answerworks.
