Not always but....occassionally when I reconcile my acccount against
my bank statement, the displayed Opening Balance will be different
than what it was upon last reconciliation. This, of course, creates a
"reconciliation" amount that throws off the account balance.

Any ideas?

If you copy previously reconciled transactions (without removing "R"
mark), that may throw off the displayed Opening Balance, I guess.
