There may be a clue there - long file name vs. 8 character file name!

Try renaming the file name to, say, Q2007.QDF

Yes! That WAS the problem!

Quicken doesn't handle long files names properly on the "filename.HCX" file.
On my machine, all the files except the .HCX had a normal name. The .HCX was
munged down to "Quicke~1.HCX". The backup couldn't find "Quicken2007.HCX" to
backup, so it failed!

The wife will be relieved.

Thanks!

You have checked the Intuit knowledge base regarding backup failures,
right?

The text of the message is "File NOT backed up." If you search with
that, you will find this hit:

http://faq.quickensoftware.ca/detail.php?&qbid=QK166&product=&buid=QK&cat=

Try that.
