I was looking at my ups and downs during the last 10yrs via Quicken and Net
Worth graph.
Not sure if I have all the same items included, or if I added some things
over the years,
but it was a pretty compelling picture...
Using 1998 as my baseline and adjusting the scale to 1.0...
My personal graph showed the huge increase
from 2000 thru 2002 (almost double to 2.0 and stayed there)
then falling back to almost 1.0... (I had a LOT of Cisco, Lucent, Nortel,
etc)
A slow growth back up till spring 2007, and another gradual spike up to 2.4,
but of course not as long as the 2000-2002 gain.
SO - it is now back to 2.0
Taking my ruler and just crudely drawing a "least squares" middle of the
road line,
it looks like the normal growth path would indicate a market of 1.8 - on my
graph.
Given that the current graph show 2.0 and my line indicates 1.8,
it looks like things still have a ways to drop :(
Not exactly a numbers cruncher -
but just wanted to see how things looked using my Quicken Net Worth graph.
