I am using Quicken Deluxe 2007, release R5. This is on a Windows XP
system. Until Monday, everything was working fine. Now, I cannot
download my quotes for mutual funds from Quicken. When I try and do a
one step update, I get a message that the server is not responding
properly, please try again. However, Quicken does indicate that it
has downloaded historical prices, and that financial institutions have
been updated.

The only change in my system that I have recently made was to update
my copy of Norton Internet Security. All of my other internet
software (browsers, e-mail, usenet and media players seem to be
working ok.

Anyone have ideas on what I can do make the quotes download?

Thank you in advance...

Could it be that Quicken Launcher needs permission to access the net to
perform download operations and your updated firewall is preventing it?

I received a reply from Inuit that they are having some problems with
the quicken.com server. So, I guess I have to give them time to
resolve whatever is going on in their end. If nothing happens, I will
look real carefully at the firewall settings. Thanks for the
suggestion.

Have you tried disabling Norton Internet Security? If you can download
afterewards, you know that NIS is part of the problem and try to debug
its configuration. I've had a number of situations where NIS seemed to
have forgotten an updated program and didn't ask if the updated one
should have internet access because the user didn't have administrative
rights.
