Normally, you would change /01 to '01 or /2001 for Quicken 2006. But
if you really want to import the file directly into your account, it's
not the FI number you need. It's the account name.
You didn't give enough information about the QIF. But I'm assuming
that it's a bank account and the file starts with !Type:Bank. Here's
what you should do. First, copy your Quicken file under a new name, and
test everything in a test file to make sure you are doing everything
correctly. Once you feel comfortable, you can use your regular Quicken
account.
Let's assume that your QIF starts with !Type:Bank and your bank
account is called Checking one. You would take the QIF and add the
following lines to the top:
!Option:AutoSwitch
!Account
NChecking one
TBank
^
Then go to Quicken, click on File > Import > QIF file
Select the file you wish to import, and select <all accounts> for the
account you wish to import into. The QIF should import just fine.
I'm assuming that your account is NOT called Checking one, so you have
to change that to the EXACT name that you gave the account. And of
course you need to make any date changes that are necessary.
