Replying to my initial posting. Came back to the computer and opened
up Quicken again to take another stab at the problem. Surprisingly
(and disturbingly) my mortgage payment show up on my transaction list,
but all that is listed is the propotion of property tax that is
regularly included on top of P+I. Still nothing in the mortgage
account itself, so entered and closed Quicken. Opened again,
identical situiation i.e. "mortgage payment" but only tax, nothing in
the mortgage account itself.

If its any help in figuring this out, the mortage details opens to
balance as of today (Feb 16) but my "next" mortgage payment is Feb 14
(i.e. haven't used the software for a week or so). So in editing, I'm
changing the balance date to Feb 14, then applying P+I amount/interest
rate with a Feb 14 date.

Grrrrrrrrrrr. Above zero temps outside for the first time in a long
time (been down hovering above -40 or so for much too long), and I'm
fiddling about with this goddamned software.

FYI: Scheduled mortgage payments never show the principal and
interest amounts. Those amounts are not the same for each
payment; the amounts are picked up from the Payment Schedule in
the Loan when the scheduled transaction is entered into your
Quicken register.

Understood, but the software is prompting me for the sum of the
principal plus interest, which is indeed a constant, and I am
inputting that value into the requested field (i.e. literally "P+I").

Try going into the Loan Wizard and tell Quicken you want to use
a "memorized payee" instead of a scheduled transaction. Then
make sure the old scheduled transaction is no longer in the
Scheduled Transaction List. Then go back to the Loan Wizard and
switch back to a scheduled transaction.

Backup first.

Another reply/query with regard to my initial query.

What would be the reason for the program to not update detailes re:
"P+I" or "Interest" fields within the "edit load" windows? That seems
to be the problem. Of note, when I first updated to 2007, I had the
problem of neither of these fields being transferred over. Simply
entered the information and voila! The entered information was
retained, the proper series of transactions were generated and
presented in the summary list and the status graphs reflected the
accurate info. But now this recent problem.

Thanks in advance for any/all help. I'm completely tapped out at this
end because none of this makes any sense, other than identifying a
glitch in the software.
